MANZA has supported a number of charities over the past years and one of them is The Reading Room – located in Kajang.
The Reading Room focuses on caring for local children – aged between 7 and 17 years – before and after school whose parents work or are marginalised in caring for them in some way. Children receive tuition and a daily meal. More than 80 children receive these daily meals. Food costs alone for the centre run at more than RM1,500 per month and they desperately need ongoing assistance to provide these meals.
With Christmas in mind, and particularly with our Christmas Coffee Morning hopefully happening, on Tuesday 22nd December, we would very much appreciate donations of non-perishable foods brought along on the day that we can deliver to the Reading Room.
Just an idea of some of what they require includes:
- Rice (Cap Rambutan)
- Oil (Cap Sri Murni)
- Sugar
- Milo
- Fernleaf milk powder
- Babas fish and/or chicken curry powder
- Sardines – big tins
- Bee Hoon – big packets
- Packets of dhaal
If you can’t make it to our coffee morning but would like to help support the Reading Room please get in touch. We thank you for your support!
