NZ high comm. message
The holiday season is now a fading memory and we are well into what promises to be an eventful and challenging year. MANZA includes a lot of new members, and I hope those of you who are new are adjusting to life in Malaysia smoothly. If you are new, MANZA and its staff can help put you in touch with others in similar circumstances and can advise you on how to make the most of your sojourn in Malaysia.
Can I also urge new New Zealand residents in Malaysia to register at the New Zealand High Commission. (No doubt the Australian High Commission would like Australians to do this also). If you register, we can contact you by email with useful information of interest to New Zealanders living here. I can assure you that there is absolutely no downside to becoming registered (the information you give us is treated strictly confidentially), but our ability to contact you by email or telephone just might be very important. You can register yourselves on www.safetravel.govt.nz .
As long term Australian and New Zealand residents know, there will be an ANZAC commemoration service at the Commonwealth war graves section of the Cheras Christian cemetery at dawn on 25 April. This year the service will be organised by the Australian High Commission and details can be obtained from them, or for New Zealanders from the New Zealand High Commission.
MANZA has a full programme of activities planned for the year and I hope my wife Gillian and I will get an opportunity to meet you at some of them. For those of you who celebrate Easter, can I wish you a very happy Easter, and to everyone best wishes for the year ahead.
