From the MANZA President

President’s Message

Happy New Year and welcome back everyone. I’m sure by now that all of you who were away are back and had a wonderful festive season and a special welcome to our newcomers.

If you are reading this magazine you are off to a great start towards settling in to life in KL. Getting involved in expat associations is a fantastic way to make new friends and to get to know what is going on in and around your community. The MANZA team organises social events on a monthly basis. Check our Facebook and Website pages and the listing in this magazine under MANZA Events.

The New Year sees us bid farewell to Alex Turnidge our coeditor. 2016 saw Alex and Becky work tirelessly with their team to produce our monthly magazine. The magazine is put together solely by volunteers and the finished product is very professional.

Speaking of volunteers, MANZA is always looking for new people to help out. Whether your talents lie in event planning, journalism, advertising, marketing, accounts and general clerical work, or you just enjoy helping, meeting and socialising we need your help and can find something for you to get involved with. You will not only be greatly appreciated for your contribution but you will make great friends as well.

Farewell to Micky & Ron Bruce – we wish you well back in Sydney. Thank you to Jody Morris for taking over the Mahjong Group coordinating and Anita Hourigan for taking over the Craft Group coordinating.

Diary Date – MANZA AGM – Wednesday 15 March 2017 – MANZA House – 6.30pm for 7pm start. All committee positions will be declared vacant – we are receiving nominations now. Any queries contact MANZA House.

Thank you for coming along and joining in the fun of the combined Waitangi/Australia day celebrations.  Happy Valentine’s Day and

Selamat Tahun Cina, the Year of the Rooster.
